Improve or refresh your understanding of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and its applications to improve patient outcomes with this two-day course for training and practising psychiatrists.

As part of this course, you’ll work with renowned ECT instructors, Professor Colleen Loo and Dr Brett Simpson, to explore the foundations of ECT treatment and deep dive into the latest research findings, including insights into ultra-brief and bifrontal ECT, as well as anaesthetic strategies.

Your instructors

Professor Colleen Loo

Colleen is a Professor of Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales and Professorial Fellow at the Black Dog Institute. She is a clinical psychiatrist and internationally recognised clinical ECT expert and researcher.

Dr Brett Simpson

Brett is the Director of Electroconvulsive Therapy at Wesley Hospital Kogarah and leads the ECT service at St George Public Hospital. He is a member of the NSW Health ECT Working Party and a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales.
