What is post-traumatic stress disorder?

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is when the fear, anxiety and memories of a traumatic event don’t go away and impact a person’s experience of life.

Signs of PTSD vary, but can include:

• intrusive thoughts
• withdrawal from social contact or activities that may be a trigger
• paranoia, anger or depression
• nightmares and insomnia
• increased risk of substance abuse.

I need help for a loved one.

We can help you support someone you care for.

Signs of PTSD vary from person to person, which can make it hard to know if someone you love is suffering.

Without treatment, PTSD can have long-term negative impacts on a person’s mental and physical wellbeing. The sooner your loved one can access support, the better their chances of recovery will be.

You’ve already taken the first step in supporting someone you love who may be experiencing PTSD. For more information, contact our assessment team to see how we can work together to help your loved one identify and manage PTSD, and return to a connected and fulfilling life.
